staying here felt like walking through a piece of history, with the hotel's medieval style adding charm to my visit while being just a short stroll from Colchester Castle and the beautiful Castle Park, making my weekend city strolls absolutely delightful.

the hotel is super pretty with its old charm and eveything is clean. we was happy with the room, comfy bed and the staff were really friendly and helpful. had a nice time admiring the history of the place, and breakfast was decent too.

the room got kinda warm at night and we could hear the noise from outside. it would be better if they had evening meals available.

We had our wedding here, and it was just amazing! Sue is awesome at her job, making everything so smooth. The ceremony setup was stunning, and the food was a hit with everyone! Only issue was the room was a bit warm, but with all the excitement, who noticed? The bar area was great too!

We stayed in an Executive Double Room, which was spacious and very well-equipped. The kids loved the cozy atmosphere and the historic charm of the hotel. Breakfast was a highlight with a variety of options and delicious hot meals on request.

Had a great time with my friends! We visited the roller disco and the zoo, both fantastic places for fun. The hotel was cozy, and we loved the character of the building. The staff were helpful. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

we loved our stay at best western! the building has so much character, even though our standard double room was in the newer part. breakfast in the old section was a treat and definitely one of the highlights. the staff were super friendly, and we felt really looked after.
